President-Elect Position Description
The President Elect is a full voting member of the PAOS Board. Working closely with the current President and Board on every endeavor, this position ensures a smooth transition of leadership for the organization.

In the absence of both the President and Vice President, the President Elect shall assume the duties of the president. The President Elect will succeed to the office of President at the expiration of the President's term, or earlier if the office becomes vacant for any reason.
Essential Functions
Provide strategic planning for 3, 5, and 10 years
Review the annual budget and make recommendations
Submit a written bi-annual report, which will be provided to the Board of Directors two weeks prior to each meeting. This report will include a written summary of the activities and accomplishment of the office and recommendations for the coming year
Write a 'President Elect's Perspective' for one edition of the PAOS News
Serve as advisor to assigned committees
Attendance at teleconference calls and annual PAOS BOD meeting and general Membership meeting. AAPA and AAOS meeting is expected to support the President.
Attend Leadership Summit and applicable AAPA regional meetings, as assigned Recruit potential leaders Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Must be a member in good standing of PAOS
Candidates for this office must possess the same skills requested of the President
Previous Board of Directors experience, strongly recommended
Knowledge of how to run a Board of Directors meeting
Excellent facilitation, communication, delegation, leadership, and diplomacy skills
Ability to multi-task and complete projects on time
President Position Description
The President will have knowledge of PAOS's interests and monitor the progress of goals and objectives for PAOS and will coordinate the dissemination of this information to members. The President and Immediate Past President should serve as the primary spokespersons (points of contact) for the organization so that a consistent message is provided.
This officer should have the ability to conduct meetings, formulate ideas, consummate plans, and delegate responsibility. In addition the President is also responsible for upholding the organization's policies and procedures. The President should be available to other officers and members by phone and at meetings.
Essential Functions
Coordinate agendas for all Board of Directors meetings and preside over PAOS business meetings and its Board of Directors
Define and monitor the goals and objectives of PAOS
Write a "President's Message" for each edition of the PAOS News

Secretary Position Description
The Secretary’s main responsibilities are to ensure that all organization records are accurately kept and regularly maintained, and to work with PAOS's master and management staff to direct the organization's membership listing. This position is a two-year commitment.
Working with BOD to maintain records of the annual meetings as well as conference calls for reasons of PAOS records and incorporation and will provide an annual fiscal report to the Board and membership at annual meetings.
Essential Functions
Notify the Board of Directors of the time and place of all meetings
Keep minutes of PAOS board meetings and maintain them as a legal record. Submit written minutes to the Board within four weeks of each meeting
Serve as key contact to the management staff to ensure that accurate records of PAOS's membership is maintained
Submit a written report, which will be provided to the Board of Directors two weeks prior to each meeting. This report will include a written summary of the activities and accomplishment of the office and recommendations for the coming year
Write a "Secretary Perspective" for each edition of the PAOS News
Attendance at teleconference calls and annual PAOS BOD meeting and general Membership meeting.
Perform other duties as assigned

Must be a member in good standing of PAOS

Treasurer Position Description
The Treasurer's main responsibilities are to ensure that all financial records are accurately kept and regularly maintained, and work to direct the organization's fiscal policy and money management. This position is a two-year commitment.
This officer will present a budget proposal to the Board of Directors to serve as a guide for making all financial decisions of the organization and will provide an annual fiscal report to the Board and membership at annual meetings.
Essential Functions
Ensure that accurate records of PAOS's financial status are maintained
Assist with audits, fiscal reports and provide financial advice and investment strategies
Working with the BOD, prepare PAOS's annual budget
Assist the Past President and nominating committee with elections
Submit a financial report, which will be provided to the Board of Directors two weeks prior to each meeting. This report will include a written summary of the activities and accomplishment of the office and recommendations for the coming year
Write a "Treasurer's Perspective" for each edition of the PAOS News
Attendance at teleconference calls and annual PAOS BOD meeting and general Membership meeting. Ability to multi-task and complete projects on time. Recognize the need for, and develop a plan to increase, non-dues sources of income and propose specific projects to the Board as a means to generate and obtain new sources of income
Perform other duties as assigned

Vice President Position Description
The Vice President’s role is to assist the President in every endeavor and should be knowledgeable of the duties and responsibilities of the President. In the event the President cannot complete the term of office, the Vice President will assume all responsibilities.

This officer should seek opportunities to represent the organization at professional and social functions in a positive manner.
Essential Functions
Coordinate the submission of the AAPA Constituent Organization Award of Excellence
Submit a written annual report, which will be provided to the Board of Directors two weeks prior to each meeting. This report will include a written summary of the activities and accomplishment of the office and recommendations for the coming year
Write a” Vice President's Perspective " for each edition of the PAOS News
Serve as advisor to assigned committees
Attendance at teleconference calls and annual PAOS BOD meeting and general Membership meeting.

Assist in recruitment, nominations, and the election process
Perform other duties as assigned

Regional Director Position Description
The Regional Directors is the primary liaison between the PAOS Board of Directors and its regional constituents. The Regional Directors take direction from the President.

The Regional Directors will serve his/her assigned region by maintaining contact with members via regular written and verbal correspondence. In coordination with the BOD and the President, the Regional Directors will organize regional meetings, oversee regional membership recruitment and retention and establish regional contacts with other professional organizations.
Essential Functions
Serve as a liaison between the Board of Directors and the assigned regional constituency.
Submit an article for each edition of the PAOS News highlighting specific regional activities and accomplishments
Serve on or chair ad hoc committees as assigned
Working with the Executive Committee, contact state PA constituent organizations and PA programs in assigned region by letter of introduction to PAOS
Serve as an information resource for assigned region
Assist fellow officers as needed
Assist Nominating Committee with elections as directed
Perform other duties as assigned
Attendance at teleconference calls and annual PAOS BOD meeting and general Membership meeting.
Qualifications
Excellent communication, leadership, and diplomacy skills
Ability to multi-task and complete projects on time
Active PAOS member
