PAOS Special Election - 2012

President-Elect:
The President will be chairman of the Executive committee and will serve as the Chair of the BOD. The president will preside at all meetings of the PAOS. The President will represent the PAOS to other organizations. He/She may designate a representative to serve in his absence. The President will coordinate other officers and Committee Chairmen. Should the President be unable to complete his term, the Executive Committee would then elevate the president-elect to the position of president. The vice president would then be eligible to serve as past-president upon completion of his term. Term is 6 years in length - 2 years President-Elect, 2 years President, and 2 years Past-President. Due to this special election, the President-Elect will become President on July 1, 2013.
Vice-President:
The Vice-President shall assist the President or the officers in all functions as he is directed, and can serve as the President in the event of the absence or disability of the President. In the event the President can not fulfill his term and the President-elect is elevated to President, the Vice-President would then be eligible to serve as the Past-President upon completion of his/her term. The Vice-President will serve as the Chief Delegate to the AAPA House of Delegates. Term expires on June 30, 2013. Re-election for a two year term available thereafter. Our current Vice-President has requested resignation from his position as he has been called to active duty and is not able to adequately fulfill this role.
Regional Directors:
During the recent PAOS Board of Directors meeting it was determined that the Pacific region needs to be divided into a "Northwest" and "Southwest" region to better represent our membership as we continue to grow as an organization. The current Pacific regional director resigned due to work related issues. The regional directors represent their membership during the BOD meeting and may serve as a chairperson of one or more committees and assist the other offices in the organization as needed. He/She will also be responsible for maintaining and recruiting membership in the respective region. Attendance at the annual PAOS CME meeting and Board meeting which occurs during the annual CME meeting in person. Term expires on June 30, 2013. Re-election for a two year term available thereafter.
