The
Susan Lindahl Memorial Scholarship was established
in 1998. Susan, the wife of our founding President
Joe Lindahl, passed away following a struggle with
a brain tumor in 1997. This Scholarship fund
was established in honor of the sacrifices Susan
and Joe Lindahl under went getting PAOS off the ground
and sustaining this organization in its early years. The
establishment of this Memorial Scholarship fund was
to cultivate and attract young physician assistant
students into the field of orthopedics. Initially
one $500 annual scholarship was awarded to an outstanding
second year Physician Assistant student who showed
an interest in pursing a carrier in orthopedics. This
award has grown and currently, if funds permit, awards
two $500 scholarships annually. Each year during
the Advanced Orthopedic Fall CME course PAOS will
honor the annual recipient or recipients of this
scholarship. PAOS hopes that this scholarship
will attract deserving students who are considering
a carrier in orthopedics.
